post election peace!!!

Ok so a had to take a blogging break because of traveling for work last week.  I must say as much as I wanted and prayed for McCain to be in the White House I have this huge peace that Barack Obama was who needed to win.  I dont agree with everything he wants to do and the way in which he wants to do it, but I do believe that this country has to go through change, it has to go through different types of people leading our country, and if we dont we become stagnant and that is NEVER EVER good!  I believe that we have not seem the worst of what is to come but I do believe we are close and from there it can only go up.  From everyone that I talk to in the financial and political world things will get better its just a matter of time and patience.

THIS IS FROM A FRIENDS POST ON FACEBOOK!  LOVE IT!!  Check out his new non-profit: Reagan.org  this is the conservative answer to moveon.

I went out to dinner.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "*/Obama 08/*" tie_,
again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him
that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He
stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the
server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I
realized the homeless guy was _grateful for the money he did not earn,
but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn_
even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
concept than in practical application.

so close

So we are two days away!! So close!

As the last two days of the election are upon us I am having a hard time reading the polls and figuring out what is going on.  Some have the race even some have McCain ahead and some have Obama ahead by like 11.  Once again a way our media has a hold of us we have no clue what was going on.  All I know is I am waking up Tuesday morning and going with some lawn chairs and snacks and camping out at the polling place in my neighborhood.

I cannot wait for the race to be over, I am going ahead and making my prediction.  Its gonna be close and when I go to bed Tuesday night we will think one candidate has it, then when we wake up that candidate will have lost.  I hope and pray it is McCain.  I honestly believe he is the better of two evils in this race.  I believe he can pull it off.

Is it Nov. 4th yet?

So while I think the election process in this country is fascinating all the crap that we must listen to and watch while getting to election day is really taking a toll on me.  I am sick of the mudslinging the name calling the media bias, all of it.  I still do not know where either of the candidates really stand, I can read their websites but its hard to take that as the truth.  The closest thing we have found is the heritage foundation but even that I fear is skewed.  I know where they stand on the big issues but how will they put these plans into action in a real situation what effect will it have on me?  I feel like a cant get a truthful answer from either of them on this question.

The news

I would like to think this video is taking the reality of news in America to an extreme however I am afraid that it is highly accurate!

Airplanes

So our country is going through a tough time, nothing that we haven't been through before.  In all actuality my stock is up from where it was 3,6,12 months ago.  I believe we will come out of this, do I know if the bailout is a good idea or not, and I will not even begin to guess because the people making that decision have a much better look at the big picture than I ever could.  However, I am not here today to write about the bail out I am here to bring to light something that I thought was very interesting.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/24/mccain-suspends-campaign-to-help-with-bailout/

This is a link to a FoxNews article about the McCain camp suspending their campaign to be in Washington, and his plea to Obama to put off the debate.  I do respect McCain for this in so many ways, it shows he is able to prioritize what is most important for our country at the appropriate time.  What caught my attention was this section of the article...

"The Republican presidential candidate furthermore asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone his first debate with Obama, which is scheduled to take place Friday night at the University of Mississippi in Oxford.

Obama responded by saying that such disruptive measures were unnecessary.

“Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time,” Sen. Obama said. “It’s not necessary for us to think that we can only do one thing and suspend everything else.” He said that he and McCain have large campaign planes that can get them from Washington to Mississippi and back quickly."

The part that I put in bold is what caught my attention and I found somewhat humorous!  Our country in is the middle of a financial crisis, things need to be worked out and we will be fine, but in a case where a good bit of the people do not have to pennies to rub together Obama wants to assure the American people that he and McCain have airplanes to get them back to Washington.  I'm sorry but thats not really relating to the American people, I dont have an airplane do you?  Yes I know the same argument could be related to McCain and his houses and cars but still I think you get my point and I really thought it was more funny than anything else.

I also want to touch on the comment that Obama made about the President having to juggle different things at one time.  Yes, a President must be able to do that BUT more importantly a President must be able to recognize what is a priority for our country.  That fact that McCain is willing to suspend his campaign to do his job as a Senator in Washington should gain him respect not flack.
